Arkady also worked in Silicon Valley (California, USA) office of McKinsey as a consultant for high tech conpanies. Before McKinsey Arkady occupied top managerial positions in different leading international companies including Cargill and Gillette. Arkady holds PhD from University of Cambridge (UK). 
Elena Aksenova, JD, Managing PartnerBefore joining Whales Group Elena was the head of the legal department in Russian General Bank and later the head of the banking and corporate department in Cliff, one of the largest law firms in Russia. Elena is well known in the banking community through her participation as a project lead in many large bank deals projects. Elena is a JD. |
Aida Kiton (Roushmanova), Chair of the Board of DirectorsAida founded Whales legal (later re-branded as BanksBank) in 2001, with banking law being the company's specialization. In 2002, after Whales legal virtually monopolized the niche of legal services for indirect banking mergers and acquisitions (M&A), Aida launched a consulting company, Whales Group, which works on the same market of banking M&A. In June 2006 Firm’s Secret Magazine reported that WG captured around 50% of the market of indirect banking M&A in Russia. In July 2007 Forbes (Russian Edition) named WG the biggest in this market. Aida started her career as a lawyer in 1990. She has huge experience as a trial attorney as well as with international arbitrage. Aida regularly takes courses at different world class business schools (the last one is Stanford GSB Executive Course, 2006). Aida’s articles, reviews, interviews & comments on company management, banking M&A and international arbitration are regularly published in Business Week (Russian edition), Expert, Commersant, Vedomosti (Russian business newspaper owned by WSJ and FT), Russia Journal, Company Management, Boss, Banking review etc. She is a frequent speaker and panelist at international banking and economic conferences. Aida had been the President of the British Alumni Club, an organization founded and funded by the British Embassy and is a representative of the Association of Independent European Lawyers (AIEL) in Russia. Aida actively invests in high tech companies in Silicon Valley in the US and manages her companies there as a CEO. |
